beanz Evolves into 30 STEM Links
April 10, 2024 / While we had to shutter the print and online magazine for financial reasons, after 11 years of publication, we have launched an email newsletter to provide STEM/STEAM information to help kids, parents, teachers, and librarians become digitally literate. Paid subscriptions to the email newsletter includes full access to the 1200+ STEM articles on this website. Plus help us provide free access to this site and the email newsletter for Title 1 schools and groups that work with under-resourced kids.
The newsletter is called 30 STEM Links and can be found at https://30STEMLinks.com.
beanz featured in Publishers Weekly
November 13, 2023 / We’ve been featured in their article online and print, Innovative Projects Gain STEAM in Children’s Publishing. The article describes interesting and innovative projects helping kids of all ages have fun learning about and getting excited about STEM/STEAM. As well as make up for time lost due to the pandemic. beanz is one of five projects mentioned in the article.
beanz Magazine Adds Three New Writers
September 29, 2023 / We’ve added three writers whose work will first appear in our December 2023 issue: Marina Torres, Bianca Ferrara, and Eryn Spicer. Marina will cover STEM/STEAM in Latin and Central America. Bianca will cover STEM/STEAM in Europe. And Eryn is writing about how to use technology to create music, a topic we’ve wanted to cover for many years. Fun fact: our writing team now has two writers named Tim, two named Joe, two named Bianca, and two named Erin (ok Eryn sounds like Erin and Jo sounds like Joe). We didn’t plan it that way.
And we’re still interested to find a STEM/STEAM teacher or organizer working with under resourced kids who would like to write articles as a way to explore, understand, and optimize what they’re doing.
Kids Code & Computer Science, Inc relaunches beanz Magazine website to feature content
September 5, 2023 / We’ve spent the summer reorganizing our online magazine website to feature the extremely diverse range of content published in the print version of beanz magazine, 1100+ articles since August 2013. The new website also includes publishing content between issues, collecting fun articles and videos about STEM and computing. The new website also provides the ability to publish email newsletters on a regular basis, creating an additional channel to reach kids with our content.
Our Between Issues newsletter is found here and is based upon our Tidbitz and STEM/STEAM Videos stories we publish, you guessed it, between issues of our print magazine.
